It’s been a full and busy Summer, and now that school is starting soon, it’s time to think about Mom Wins when it comes to school lunches! To me, Mom Wins are all the little wins each day like your kids automatically getting their lunches made by themselves or choosing to include lots of greens in their lunches!
In talking with other parents, I discovered that most of them dread making school lunches. They said that they quickly get into the school lunch rut, not knowing what to make or making the same boring lunches all the time. Another thing fellow parents told me was that often times, lunchboxes would come home with food still in them.
I stopped making Little One’s lunches when she was seven. To be honest, she really likes making her own lunches! Because she is the one who makes her lunches and chooses the elements of her lunch, she cannot say “I don’t like it.†She knows she has to choose a healthy balance of food from all the food groups.
One of the things Little One loves is deli meat. She REALLY likes her deli meat. In the past, I was worried about the amount of sodium in deli meat. Well, the things I like about Maple Lodge Farms Natural From The Farm deli is that they’re made with all-natural ingredients. There is 30% less sodium than the leading natural deli products, all the products are gluten-free, they have a variety of flavours, and there is no sugar added to Oven Roasted Chicken and Oven Roasted Turkey flavours.
Little One came up with a wrap that she wants to take for school lunch. This wrap is so easy to make and can be made in no time at all. Little One wanted to make a video on how to make her Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap!
SWEET & SPICY CHICKEN WRAP
Soft tortilla shells
Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
Maple Lodge Farms Natural From The Farm Oven Roasted Chicken
Red onion, sliced
Alfalfa sprouts or pea shoots
Cucumber, peeled and chopped
Heaps of veggies, hummus, and Natural from the Farm Oven Roasted Chicken!
1. On a soft tortilla shell, spread hummus and add a layer of lettuce and spinach. Add oven roasted chicken, shredded carrot, red onion, alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts, avocado, and cucumber. Drizzle Sweet Thai Chili Sauce.
2. Fold the bottom of the wrap up about two inches and then start rolling the wrap from the right side. When the wrap is half-rolled, fold the top and bottom of the tortilla, enclosing all the filling. Continue to fold into a tight cylinder.
3. Slice in half and either serve or place in lunch container.
Have I mentioned that Little One LOVES her Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap?
This a total Mom Win! Back to school lunches are made easy with Maple Lodge Farms Natural From The Farm deli! The best part is that Little One LOVES her Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wrap creation, and I didn’t have to make lunch!
There you have it! Little One’s Sweet & Spicy Chicken & Veg Wrap!
