Ingredients

  • 1 package Fresh From The Farm Chicken Drumsticks
  • 1/3 cup medium maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled & chopped
  • Salt & pepper

Directions

1Pre-heat oven to 400 ° F (200 ° C).

2In a large bowl or freezer bag, combine maple syrup, balsamic vinegar and mustard powder.

3On a cutting board, combine chopped garlic and salt. Using the flat side of a large kitchen knife, crush garlic and salt together to make a paste. Add to maple mixture, along with black pepper to taste. Mix well.

4Add drumsticks to mixture and toss until evenly coated. If possible, let stand in refrigerator for at least 10 minutes and up to 2 hours for maximum flavour.

5Place drumsticks on a large parchment lined baking sheet. Reseve mixture for basting.

6Place in oven for 35 minutes. After 15 minutes, baste the drumsticks generously with both remaining mixture and the caramelized glaze from baking sheet. After 10 minutes, turn and baste drumsticks until they are tender.

7Broil 3 minutes on low and serve immediately.

To make sure your chicken is cooked through, look for an internal temperature reading of 82° C for a whole chicken and 74° C for ground poultry, chicken pieces & cuts.
