Maple Lodge Farms Partners with MLSE Meal Program to Bring Toronto Back to its Feet

May 29, 2020 – Brampton, ON – Maple Lodge Farms – Canada’s largest poultry processor – is proud to announce that we’ve partnered with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE) to help feed Canadians during this difficult time. MLSE, Maple Lodge Farms and a team of dedicated partners have joined to create a large-scale meal program to support and thank Toronto’s frontline health workers and their families, and to help feed the city’s most vulnerable.

The goal of the community meal program, operating out of Scotiabank Arena, is to prepare and deliver as many as 10,000 meals a day to local hospital frontline workers and community agencies.

“Maple Lodge Farms is proud to partner with MLSE and the other wonderful organizations involved in this initiative to help rebuild our community and help navigate through these difficult times,” said Fred Marques, Chief Operations Officer, Maple Lodge Farms. “We’re happy to be given the chance to feed families during their time of need and will continue to partner with like-minded organizations to do our small part for the community. I’m proud to work with such dedicated partners who truly put Family First. Thanks to all that have supported this great cause and thanks to our front-line healthcare workers for their courage and commitment to caring.”

Maple Lodge Farms is incredibly proud of this initiative and is committed to providing all of the chicken for this program on a weekly basis. Visit https://bringtorontoback.mlse.com/ to learn more.

About Maple Lodge Farms

In 1834, the May family arrived in Canada and settled on a farm just outside what is now Brampton, Ontario. Among the few things they brought was a proud tradition of hard work, agricultural wisdom and humble family values. Each subsequent generation farmed that same property and today it is home to the headquarters of what became their thriving commercial chicken processing business. Today, still family-owned, Maple Lodge Farms (MLF) is Canada’s largest chicken processor. Their products include fresh and frozen chicken cuts, as well as chicken wieners and deli meats, which are sold domestically and in more than 30 countries worldwide. MLF is also Canada’s number one supplier of Halal meat to the consumer marketplace.
